Training at Picadome Elementary School
Comments:
-This picture was originally thought to be a fire at Garden Springs Elementary
-This picture was taken by now AC Mattingly in July 1986
-Pictured are: FF (now retired) Al Harris (on top of E-16), Major (now ret.) Joe Best (white shirt), either FF (now ret.) Ron Spickard or Lt. (retired as AC) Ron O'Bryan standing next to him. Other present are likely FF (now Major) Brent Frizzell, FF (now Lt.) Randy Crouch and FF (now ret.) Jack Ballard
-You can tell this is E-16 since it was the only Ford with a chrome grill
-Ford added the grill for the truck's use in a National Ford advertisment for Ford Trucks---the pic was taken in front of Station 16 with FF Kevin Kok on the truck

Train Depot Fire
Comments:
-Fire occurred in May 1991

Serious Accident of Engine 14
Comments:
-January 7th, 1978 accident on Parkers Mill Rd between Williamsburg and Traveller
-The father of FF S. Holloway of E-11 (2nd) was the officer on E-14 when this accident occurred
-E-14 was responding to a confirmed small plane down when they were forced from the road by an oncoming vehicle
-The engine, pump and tranny from this truck were removed and installed in the old Peter Pirsch E-14 (later known as E-34)
-The newly refurbished truck was known as a "Fox la Carter" for the individuals who engineered the refurb- Former Major Foxie Blanton and Batt Chief Biff Carter
-Truck was delivered in 1976 and was identical to E-15
-FF Vaughn Cox (retired and deceased) drove the truck on the day it was put into service and was driving the night of the crash (his last run)
-FF Cox broke his pelvis among other injuries and was trapped for over an hour
-Riding officer was Danny Holloway (shattered ankle) and FF Gary Young in back
-The plane crash was several miles south of runway 22 just into Jessamine County- 7 on board died

Comments:
-This is actually Aerial #2 at Station 5
-The truck was moved to Station 5 and the number changed to Aerial #2 shortly after this picture was taken
-Chief McDaniel is in the suit with "Papa" Finch on the turntable

-It has been observed that in the background is a train depot with a Southern Railway passenger car
